The builders prop utilises a telescopic design: tubular steel provides a telescoping action, allowing the prop to be wound tightly into place. This same design makes installation, transportation and storage of the props a breeze. Safe working load (SWL) limits will depend on the size of the builders prop and the extension it is installed at.

The height of the prop is easily adjustable by a screw thread on the outside of the prop shaft. The threaded screw allows tightening of the builders prop once in place. This same action also allows for load balancing across the props.
